The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor O. B. Kehinde, has approved that Friday, February 24, 2023 be declared a work free day in order to encourage all staff to fully participate in the upcoming 2023 General Election.
The purpose of the holiday is to allow employees who wish to travel to their towns and villages outside of Abeokuta to vote in the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday, February 25, 2023 to do so.
Work, on the other hand, will resume on Monday, February 27, 2023.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor enjoins all staff participating in the election either as voters or officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission to be law abiding and refrain from any act that can put the name of the University into disrepute during the period. He prays for a peaceful election to elect a new President for Nigeria.
