The University of Ilorin Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has vowed that it would not resume until demands are met.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on the federal government to exercise caution on the agitation to reopen universities across the country.
The ASUU coordinator for the Ibadan zone of the union, Professor Ade Adejumo made the call while Speaking with Journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
According to him Nigerians should honestly study the situation to save the lives of the students.
He explained that throwing schools open in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic is an open invitation to tragic explosion of the scourge on a scale never witnessed anywhere since its outbreak.
Adejumo, noted that most of the public institutions can not confidently vouch for the safety of the students based on the available facilities at their disposal.
The ASUU zonal coordinator maintained that members of the union will not resume work if government reopen universities.
