COVENANT UNIVERSITY MATRICULATES 2216 UNDERGRADUATE, POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS 

Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, has matriculated 2,100 undergraduates and 116 postgraduates students.

Speaking at the institution’s 21st matriculation ceremony, held at the University Chapel, Ota, Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents, Covenant University, Dr. David Oyedepo, yesterday, attributed the institution’s accomplishments and meteoric rise to God and the schools readiness to create future for the next generation through a shift in thinking, values and actions.

Oyedepo stressed that the institution is focused on equipping students so that they could continue to generate impact in their various vocations in life without prejudice to the pursuit of academic excellence.
He advised parents and guardians to help in ensuring that the students align with the university training mode, so that they could be listed among the new generation of leaders that the institution has been producing to date.

He also charged the students to align themselves and get ready to work, so that they would not be shown the way out unceremoniously.

The Pro-Chancellor, Bishop David Abioye, charged the new students to stretch towards outstanding.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abiodun Adebayo listed the university’s achievements, saying, “in 20 years, God has moved Covenant from a local university into a globally ranked one, toping 800 in the World Universities Ranking, out of 21, 319 universities worldwide.

Adebayo admonished the matriculating students to take full advantage of the university’s unique context described as ‘second to none.’

He stressed that compliance to the institution rules and regulations is a must as they are nurtured into becoming ‘eagles.’
