Primary, secondary schools in Enugu to reopen September 28
All primary and secondary schools in Enugu State southeast Nigeria are to reopen Monday 28th September 2020 after months of shutdown by the Government following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
Consequently, the State Government has directed the State Post Primary School Board to ensure adequate sensitization of the schools in readiness for resumption.
In compliance with the Government’s directives, management of various schools, teachers and principals have been in closed-door meetings while the decontamination exercise had commenced.
AIT also observed that many school premises had been overgrown with grasses as the result of the lockdown while hired labourers were busy tiding up the school premises.
Parents and stakeholders commended the State Government for the reopening of schools with adequate precautionary measures put in place to protect the students from contracting the virus.
Meanwhile the State Government has appealed to parents and guardians to release their wards to school assuring them of adequate protection.
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country Enugu State Government has taken a series of protective measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the state.
