Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Admission Exercise 2019/2020 : Beware of Activities of Fraudsters

The management of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA hereby draws the attention of members of the public and particularly candidates seeking admission to the University for the 2019/2020 academic session to the activities of fraudsters masquerading as officials of the university and promising bogus admission slots.

These impostors, through text messages and posting on social media, claim to have the ability and connection to manipulate the results of the Post UTME Screening Exercise for interested candidates and offer them admission.

The Fraudsters are also asking candidates through social media platforms and other Channels to call some phone numbers and pay huge amount of money into the private accounts of some individuals to facilitate admission. This is nothing but patent scam by fraudsters.

The general public is hereby notified that the spurious claims and misleading information is the handiwork of scammers who want to fraudulently extort money from unsuspecting Candidates and their parents and guardians.

For the avoidance of doubt no individual, either internally or externally, can manipulate, in anyway or form, the results of the screening exercise and the admission process.

The admission process in FUTA is merit driven and insulated from manipulation and other malpractices. Members of the general public particularly candidates seeking admission into FUTA should be wary of the activities of Fraudsters as FUTA will not be responsible for the loss incurred by those who choose to deal with the Fraudsters and their cronies. This Public Notice serves as a disclaimer.
