The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has reaffirmed the conduct of aptitude tests for direct entry candidates starting from 2024, TEAM PLATO reliably gathered.
The Regiatrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede reteirated this during a virtual meeting with commissoners of education in the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory held on Monday, 4th of December 2024.
According to him, as from 2024, JAMB would conduct aptitude test for all Direct Entry candidates to access their academic potential or career suitability, as well as their mental or physical capacity. He pointed out that it is an intelligence test that would measure skills and would not be usual subjects such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Government, Physics, etc. The Registrar explained that the aptitude test would comprise the following; Verbal, Abstract, Mechanical and Numeric Reasoning, Data Checking and Work Sampling.
The Registrar also informed the participants that Direct Entry registration would be restricted to only JAMB Offices nationwide.
