The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has announced that the university will be unbundling its Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences to create a new faculty. This announcement was made during a ceremony where the Federal Inland Revenue Service donated a building to the university’s management team.
The decision to create a new faculty came as part of the university’s effort to enhance its academic and research activities. Professor Jimoh stated that the Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences would be divided into two faculties to strengthen the academic programs of each field. The Faculty of Humanities will focus on arts, languages, history, philosophy, and religion, while the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences will focus on business, economics, political science, and sociology.
The unbundling of the Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences will bring the number of faculties in the university to nine.
