The Lagos State University Of Science And Technology (formerly, Lagos State Polytechnic), has received the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to run 37 academic programmes.
The institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, made the disclosure, during a press briefing.
According to Odusanya, 1850 students had been admitted as pioneering students for the 37 approved courses in compliance with the NUC’s directive that each of its 37-degree programs should not admit more than 50 students.
The vice-chancellor further called on philanthropists and well-meaning individuals to partner with the university and support it with educational equipment and infrastructure such as professorial chairs, lecture halls, books, laboratories, and computers.
