Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, officially welcomed 9,772 new undergraduate students into its academic community during the 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony on Thursday.
Speaking at the event held at the university’s main campus, Vice Chancellor Professor Razaq Kalilu emphasized the significance of the occasion. Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Professor Adepoju Ogunkunle, he noted that the admitted students, drawn from 35 states across the country, successfully passed the institution’s screening and registration processes across 13 faculties.
Addressing the freshers, the Vice Chancellor urged them to maintain discipline, adhere to the university’s rules, and remain focused on their academic pursuits. He cautioned that non-compliance with institutional regulations could lead to dismissal. In a bid to enhance security, Professor Kalilu revealed that the university has deployed surveillance devices to monitor student areas and curb unlawful activities.
Highlighting LAUTECH’s commitment to academic excellence, he announced a scholarship for the best-performing 100-level student of the 2023/2024 academic session, Ayoola Taofikat Olamide, from the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
