UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION
i. Admission into the University shall be open to all irrespective of religion, ethnic group, gender, creed and disability.
ii. Those who meet the requirements for admission will be subjected to interview to be conducted by the University.
iii. Admission into 200 level will only commence in the third year of the University’s existence.
iv. The University will as much as possible avoid transfer students. Consequently, there will be no transfer students until after the third level of the first set of students.
v. Prospective students would need to satisfy the following general requirements before they are offered admission into the University
vi. All admissions into the University shall be through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
vii. For admission through 100 level (UME), candidates must:
Obtain five(5) credits at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects at not more than 2 sitings;
Score a minimum of 160 points in UME in relevant subjects.
viii. For admission to 200 level (direct entry), candidates should (in addition to SSCE credits as in (a) in above), obtain at least two (2) A’ level (or its equivalent) passes in relevant subjects, or posses NCE, OND or ATS with credit passes, or posses a good first degree in another field as the case may be.
ix. Credit passes in both English Language and Mathematics are compulsory for admission into any course in the University.
In addition to the above general requirements, prospective students must satisfy college/department requirements as detailed in Table 4.7 – 4.12

4 Intelligence & Security Studies; Int. Relations & Strategic Studies; Sociology and Rural Development; Psychology Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in relevant subjects including English and Mathematics Two A’ level passes in Mathematics, Government and any other relevant subjects. UME subjects are: English, Mathematics, Government and one other subject

4.12 College of Science Education

NCE with credit pass in Physical Education may be considered provided relevant Credits at SSCE (or its Equivalent) are obtained. UME subjects are English, Biology and any other two relevant subjects.
2 Educational Foundation; Guidance & Counseling Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English and four other subjects plus at least a pass in Mathematics Two A’ level passes in relevant subjects with SSCE credit level passes in subjects. UME subjects are English and any three relevant subjects.
3 Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology Five Credit at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Physics, Tech. Drawing, and Chemistry Five Credits in City & Guides Part I Credit passes in OND in relevant Engineering disciplines in addition to relevant credits at SSCE (or its equivalent). NCE with Technical Education in addition to relevant Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) UME subjects are English, Technical Drawing, a subject of specialization and Mathematics or Physics.
