OONI of Ife Celebrates UNILORIN VC, Egbewole, Launches Ife Trust Fund N10m 

Ile Ife, Osun State, Nigeria will for a long time to come, remember for good, Sunday, February 19, 2023. It was not only symbolic but historical as Sons and Daughters of Ife Kingdom and other well-meaning Nigerians gathered on the invitation of Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde, Ojaja II for IFE ICON RECEPTION in honour of Prof. Wahab Olasupo EGBEWOLE SAN, a distinguished son of Ife land , who was recently appointed 11th Vice-Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Nigeria, Team PLATO reliably gathered.

The elated Ojaja II, Oba Ogunwusi with his angelic-looking Queens came out with funfair to celebrate Prof Egbewole, SAN whom he described as “Osupa” of Ife land. Onirisa stated further that it was a thing of joy and pride for Ile Ife kingdom to have produced a Vice-Chancellor at a time such as this in history. He described Egbewole’s emergence as Unilorin 11th Vice-Chancellor as an act of God and the product of merit exemplified by the life and records of the honouree. He urged everyone present to give their best in training their children for more of such occasions in Ife land. Speaking further at the occasion , the Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula Ooni Adeyeye Enitan offered special prayers for good health, divine guidance and a successful tenure for a the Vice-Chancellor and by extension, everyone gathered over their children, too. Kabiesi Oba Ogunwusi, Ojaja II then inaugurated the Ife Trust Fund and supported with a sum of #10million with assurances of continuous support.

The crowd were later treated to live performances by the traditional dancers, special ewi rendition for the honouree and a life band entertainment. The Vice-chancellor, Prof Egbewole, in his brief remark, appreciated Almighty Allah who by His mercy ordained the event. He thanked profusely the Onirisa, Oba Enitan Babatunde, the entire Ife Kingdom and all who had come to honour kabiesi’s invitation. He promised not to disappoint in the discharge of his duties and pleaded for understanding, support and all time prayers. Amongst dignitaries at the occasion were Principal Officers and Internal Members of the Governing Council of the University of Ilorin. Former and serving diplomats, Many Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Justices of Supreme and High Courts, Members of the academia, political and business juggernauts. Goodwill messages were also delivered by a number of dignitaries among whom were Prof. Sanni, SAN; Mallam Yusuf Ola-Olu Ali, SAN and President, Ife Development Board.
