UNIOSUN SECURES NUC ACCREDITATION FOR 26 COURSES 

The management of Osun State University, Osogbo, said it has secured full accreditation of 26 under-graduate and post-graduate courses for the institution.This was disclosed by the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Adebooye, while speaking on the recent achievements of the university.

A statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, explained that various teams had assessed the institution’s teaching and learning facilities, as well as, the available personnel for the respective academic programmes both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The statement read, “I am glad to announce that we received the outcome from the NUC yesterday. I am glad to inform you that we recorded 100% full accreditation for the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, 26 in total.Some of the undergraduate programmes include, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Wildlife Management, Food Science and Technology, Computer Science, Guidance and Counseling, Urban and Regional Planning, Medicine and Surgery, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics.Others include Microbiology, Physics with Electronics, Statistics, Public Health, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Economics, Geography, Political Science and International Relations, Banking and Finance, among others.

”Adebooye also said a lecturer in the Department of History and International Studies, Dr Samson Adesote, had been invited by the Nigerian Army to partake in the historical documentation of the Nigerian Army’s peace-keeping interventions in Liberia and Sierra Leone.

He said the university noted the assignment as a major national project, and expressed satisfaction that UNIOSUN was playing a role through the involvement of its staff.
